I discovered Point Isabel today in South Richmond on the Bay and it is an amazing dog fest! Dogs everywhere! I was too scared to take Basil the Boxer off the leash in this cacophony of canines, but next time I think I'll brave it! Too bad there always seems to be so much traffic coming back to podCastro Valley from there.

Not such a good week for Mitt Romney. Can he turn it around with the debates? John McCain looked terrible next to Obama, and John's no dummy. I've seen him speak eloquently with Jon Stewart on the Daily Show. But Obama ran circles around him. We'll see how Mitt does. He does have that Reagan-style going for him. I'm just counting down to the second he says, "Well, Barack, there you go again."

So sad that 9/11 has to bring yet another national tragedy in the death of J. Christopher Stevens. He grew up nearby in the East Bay and did a lot of amazing things in his life. Deplorable that someone like Pastor Terry Jones of Florida and his other cohorts (who have done nothing but crap with their lives--Koran burnings and all) are allowed to walk outside of a jail while their religious hate fuels countless deaths. He is definitely linked to the horrible video that incited all that violence...a worthless, 14 minute youtube video. Free speech is an invaluable right. Some people have abused it beyond the pale and should have it stripped away. With that little exercise of my own bit of freedom of speech let's see what's on today's show...

Taking Basil the Boxer for a walk to the dog park is always fun. He loves meeting other dogs; it's just that dang fence that separates the big dogs from the small dogs that gets him. He gets along with every dog on the big dog side, but when the little dogs come to challenge him at the fence he goes right over there and barks back which makes him look like a big bully. There's just so much misunderstanding at a dog park.

Today is Cheese Pizza Day. It might as well be called Fat Fatzza Day. You get so little nutrition from most of the cheese that's put on a pizza and the dough is gonna fatten you up so fast you might as well change your name to "Dough." Or just D'oh! like Homer says. In fact, change your name to Homer because that's who you'll be looking like if you eat Cheese Pizza every day! A little helpful advice from Mike...who is in no way, shape, or form in tip-top shape.
