I'm not into sports.  There, I said it.  That being said, for it was said merely words ago, I don't mind going to a game if accompanied by a pretty woman.  Then I will bend my rule slightly.  Also, I don't miss a fun tailgate.  I talk briefly about my recent soccer adventure and by that I don't mean having a soccer mom in an SUV back up without looking and dinging my car.  I really don't.

Doesn't it take a leap of faith to take your treasured technology anywhere?  Your podcasting equipment, for example.  I hauled it all over to use for a wedding and lost a microphone stand in the process.  Actually, it was due to a drunken toast to the groom.  I think it's best to keep your treasured technology away from anything drunken.

I have tried to write a Country song or two.  However, I don't play the guitar, and you really need a guitar or some kind of stringed instrument to write a Country song.  Keyboards don't work.  You end up writing ballads, and though many Country songs are ballads, as you will hear on today's show to truly write a hit you need something that gets people dancin'!  I guess I'll stick with the weird, undefinable, un-lucrative songwriting that I do.  Oh, well I guess I defined it.

Country Music.  I worked on a Country Music Station for 11 years and then was the program director for a station in the deep South.  I listened to Country during the huge surge it had in the early 80's where crossover acts like Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson were heard all over the place.  Oooo, and the Bellamy Brothers.  Remember them?  Then I actually started working on Country radio during the next big "Young Country" surge of the early 90's.  Never could make a pair of jeans look good on me, though.  So I don't know how Country that makes me.  Durn it.

Today we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer, PLUS it's the return of the feature INTO AN INTERVIEW where I speak with the fascinating Country Singer from Sweden called HICKS who has written for a myriad of 80's rockers!
